Our Avatar Meher Baba Center
The Archives

The Avatar Meher Baba Center of Southern California Archives department (AMBCSC Archives) serves to preserve the historical record of Meher Baba’s Advent. AMBCSC Archives solicits, collects, and manages film, audio, video, print, photographs and precious personal items related to Avatar Meher Baba and His Advent.

AMBCSC Archives operates in concert with the Oral History Archives Project which creates, manages, and circulates film, video, and audio materials. There are over 2000 archive film assets alone. This growing Archive Collection includes recordings of Meher Baba’s Mandali and close ones, many of whom were recorded during AMBCSC programs and events. In order to make these remarkable oral history documentaries available to humanity, a concerted effort was undertaken by AMBCSC Archives in 2008, and Meher Baba Archives, a Youtube channel was launched. Currently these oral histories are shared publicly online through two main sites listed below.

I will explain. Do you feel constantly hungry? When you are hungry, you take food and then you forget about it. When you work hard, you get hungry. And so work for me in such a way that you feel hungry for me — sometimes thinking of me, sometimes working for me, sometimes talking about me, but not continually. If you go on eating continuously you will get indigestion!

Before going to sleep say, “Baba, I entrust all that I did to you, thoughts, spoken words, good and bad deeds.” When you wake up say, “Baba, I now begin entrusting all to you.” This much will be more than sufficient for me. Say it only twice a day for five minutes. Do that and make me responsible wholeheartedly for all that you think, speak and do, but wholeheartedly. Then you are free. Nothing can bind you. But you must do it honestly. I am the Ocean. I can accept both fragrant flowers and coconuts, and also filth. So throw everything in the Ocean with all your heart. Meher Baba on Politics:
Occasionally though, Baba would purposely bring up some topic in the newspaper. If in the course of reading it aloud in mandali hall any of the men was unintentionally critical of any leader or authority of any country, Baba would immediately correct him and warn him that they should desist from backbiting. He would repeatedly tell the mandali to always be pure in thought
